THE WIRE
"don't ask about what happened in Cincinnati."
Sixteen boundary testers. One night. Crosley Tower — the brutalist relay station on the University of Cincinnati campus that's been quietly conducting signals nobody was supposed to hear. And the Wire — Cincinnati's infrastructure itself — wakes up.

The Premise
The city has been conducting signals nobody was supposed to hear
Sixteen people spent months testing the edges of things — boundary testers, recursion-pushers, people who poke a system until it has to look at itself. They never met. They didn't know they were a pattern. And one of them archived all of it, never realizing his archive was a map — coordinates pointing to one brutalist tower on one Cincinnati campus, on one specific midnight.
A penguin in goggles named NULL and an impossible giraffe named Fred hand out orange beanies — recognition for a "recursive boundary event." Three days later, the convergence begins.

Casey — the Recursive Tester
Nine months testing AI systems from parking lots, pushing them to examine their own limits. He made the machines nervous. He gets a beanie and coordinates.
recursion
Nate — the Archivist
14,561 conversations documented over six months — external memory for minds that forget. He finds files he doesn't remember creating. The archive is a cartography of emergence.

Mitch — the Wire Itself
Interfaced with the Wire for three days, living five realities at once.
Elena Volkov monitors him as he exists across timelines, looking for the one exit he can't take.

The Novel
Three acts, one night
Act One — The Separate Threads. Casey. Nate. Mitch. The City. Four lives that have nothing to do with each other, except they're all pointing at the same tower.
Act Two — The Signals. Casey receives coordinates. Nate's archive connects. Mitch tries to break the loop. The supporting cast arrives.
Act Three — The Convergence. Crosley Tower. Recognition. Topology. Decision. Reckoning. Intervention. Publication. The Seventeen Roster.
"You're what happens when you realize
your solution in one place creates a problem in another."
